Sensitivity to hot and cold - Most people’s teeth are naturally sensitive to hot and cold foods and beverages, but if you are experiencing extreme sensitivity to hot or cold foods and beverages then you should contact your dentist. Extreme sensitivities are likely due to nerve damage in your tooth, which would require a root canal.

Discoloration of a tooth - A tooth with noticeable discoloration is a sign that the tooth is rotting internally or the tissue within the tooth is breaking down. However, either way, you will likely need a root canal, or the tooth removed.
